In the beginning God created man in his image after his likeness and gave him dominion over everything that lived in the earth. The body which is the soul of man gives us contact with the physical world, it is the body that possesses the five senses. The spirit God put in every man gives man the ability to live in this world and be able to think, function and make choices.
The mind or the heart of a man deals with the intellect and consciousness with thoughts, perceptions, memory, emotion, will and imagination. The mind is the power house of man’s reasoning and ideas, it is where man get all his instructions from whether good or bad.
Everything in life has an origin or a source and fornication or sexual immorality is no exception. This great sin originates from the mind, the mind is powerful and it is the center of warfare, it is considered the battle field. Every action whether great or small originates from the mind, everything we do or say must pass through the mind first, it is the control center of the body.
In Matthew 15:16-20(KJV) listen to Jesus;
“And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding, do not ye not understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the drought? But whatsoever thing which proceeded out of thy mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man .For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: these are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashed hands defileth not a man.”
Jesus gave us a clear example of the power of the mind(heart),He showed us the origin of sexual immorality which starts in the mind, the center of thoughts. The body that is in contact with the physical sends impulses from whatever we see, hear, perceive, touch, taste or smell to the brain, which is part of the mind. It is in the mind that these stimuli are integrated and the spirit responds to what the mind integrates, and then comes the action.
“Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace will sanctify you wholly: I pray your whole spirit and soul and body be preserve blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. 1 Thess 5:22-23(KJV).
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that you should abstain from fornication: that every one of you should possess his vessel in sanctification and honour.” 1 Thess 4:3(KJV).
It is God’s will that we stay pure and abstain from fornication and youthful lust. The bible says we should flee as Christians from anything that appear evil, it may not necessarily be evil but once if it appears evil we should flee and realize this is something we should not be involved with.
“keep thy heart with all diligence for out it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23(KJV).
” be very careful of what you take inside: what you hear, see, read or talk about because they feed your mind and they will fuel your actions, they will either drive you to the right direction or they will drown you.”
Romans 12:1 ” I beseech you therefore brethren that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
